MAU is hiring a Process Controls Engineer for our client in Syracuse, NY. As a Process Controls Engineer, you will support PLC and DCS systems throughout the mill, providing design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information:
- Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Chemical Engineering with a focus in controls
- Process knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing or other continuous manufacturing processes
- Experience with Siemens control systems, including S5/S7 hardware and software, and PC7 DCS platforms
- Experience with control loop tuning, performance evaluation tools, and process data historians (e.g., OSI PI, Control Performance Monitor)
- Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated with process control systems
- Experience in Ethernet networking and industrial communication protocols
- Experience with three-phase motors, motor controls, variable speed drives, and electrical distribution systems
- Knowledge of electrical infrastructure including drives and switchgear
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Foxboro IA DCS systems

- Experience optimizing and improving processes and systems
- Familiarity with Management of Change processes
- Ability to travel for training, projects, or support
Essential Functions:
- Provide primary process control support to assigned mill production areas
- Collaborate with process area owners to assess and meet control system needs
- Assist with capital and major maintenance project planning, alternatives, and cost estimates
- Manage and execute maintenance and some capital projects
- Support troubleshooting of process and control system issues
- Train operators and E/I mechanics to improve operational troubleshooting
- Provide weekend and off-hour support as needed
- Plan, configure, test, and maintain process control system upgrades and modifications
