A medical device manufacturer which specializes in precision injection molding and microelectronics is in need of an Automation Engineer to create and improve automated manufacturing processes. They are experiencing significant growth and pride themselves on fostering a collaborative environment where employees can grow within the company for many years.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, evaluate, and improves automated manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Lead workflow optimization, equipment layout planning, and cost/time estimation to support efficient production.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers on project requirements and equipment specifications.
  • Support automation acceptance (SAT/FAT), process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA), and continuous improvement through data analysis (SPC, OEE).
  • Prepares technical documentation, and contributes to engineering changes
  • May provide training and mentorship to team members.

Experience needed to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline is required
  • At least 4 years of experience developing or supporting automated manufacturing processes within a regulated environment (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense. Exposure to robotics would be a bonus.
  • Experienced in process validation
  • Experience working with vision systems such as Keyence, SmartScope, Cognex etc.
  • Experience working with plastic injection molding is preferred but not required
