Function We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to provide probation supervision and guidance to probationers and pretrial defendants referred to the Criminal Justice Agency by the courts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering positive change, using evidence-based practices to support clients through their reintegration process. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough client interviews to gather physical, psychological, and social information, utilizing standardized assessments, and managing a caseload of low-risk individuals. Minimum Requirements - Associate's degree from an accredited college. Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or Corrections preferred.
- Three (3) months of full-time equivalent experience in a closely related field.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must possess or obtain VCIN certification within ninety (90) days.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.
- Must successfully pass testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City of Hampton substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements - The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules
