Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Principal Technical Expert Consultant to support a long-term contract contingent upon award with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E , specifically within the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC). This position provides high-level systems administration, IT project management, and help desk support to ensure secure, efficient, and mission-aligned technology operations. The role is based at the Pentagon and Crystal City, VA. Location: Pentagon and Crystal City, Virginia Estimated Start Date: August, 2025 Responsibilities for the Principal Technical Expert Consultant: Provide specialized IT support, including systems administration, user support, and troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network environments
Serve as the designated interface with DISA for coordination on connectivity, compliance, and systemic IT issues
Manage IT assets, including inventory tracking, license management, and equipment coordination
Support and manage IT projects, including software implementations, integrations, and vendor coordination
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, including ATO processes, incident reporting, and security best practices
Provide user support for CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft 365, including configuration, maintenance, and issue resolution
Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and compliance tracking
Deliver technical briefings and reports using tools such as Excel and other data visualization platforms
Qualifications for the Principal Technical Expert Consultant: Active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, MS365), including configuration, troubleshooting, and user support
Proven experience in IT project management, particularly in software implementation and integration
Proficiency in help desk operations, including Tier 2 or Tier 3 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
Experience providing support for NIPRNET environments, including troubleshooting and user access management
Familiarity with IT asset management and foundational IT security practices in a government environment
Understanding of ATO processes and IT compliance requirements within DoD or federal environments
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in Excel and other tools for documentation and reporting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and adapt to evolving priorities
Compensation: Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 (commensurate with experience and education) Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401(k), 20 days paid time off, 11 federal holidays, and sick leave as required by law This job opens for applications on 06/02/2025.
