Raytheon is seeking a well-qualified Principal System Security Engineer (SSE) - P4 to join the dynamic System Security Engineering team. We need individuals who can apply their technical knowledge and leadership experience to system security engineering and program protection concerns within the key areas of cybersecurity. This role will lead the development of security solutions and will be responsible for leading and executing the security efforts for secure system products. Activities will consist of security subsystem specifications, security subsystem architecture, interface descriptions, RMF assessment and authorization, and vulnerability assessments. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Huntsville, AL. What You Will Do Support implementation of SSE solutions into RTX products
Interact with customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
Support developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans
Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems
Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues
Attack threat modeling / Critical Program Information Assessments
Developing top-level system requirements, and flowing down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystem
Understanding, and compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies
Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets, using
DoD approved scanning and assessment tools such as ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker, and HBSS
DoD approved cybersecurity management tool such as eMASS
Performing Task Lead duties (e.g., task planning, product owner, scrum master)
Help ensure Cyber policies are enforced and supported leadership reviews Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
The ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required
Experience in the fields of System Security Engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, AT, cybersecurity, or embedded security
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies, and guidelines
Experience generating security (AT and/or program protection) requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies
Must possess Security Certification in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT II (e.g. CompTIA Security+)
Qualifications We Prefer Experience in technical leadership
Experience in design, development and fielding of SSE systems
Software, Firmware, & Microelectronics Engineering, Cryptography and FPGA design
Understand primary cybersecurity policy information including DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework
Computers & Networking - digital computers, routers, switches, & firewall
Software - Microsoft Windows & Office product suite, Red Hat Linux, Cisco Network Appliances
Independent Self-Starter and able to work reliably without supervision
Attack threat modeling / Critical Program Information Assessments
Experience in the implementation and business growth of SSE implementation throughout the entire life cycle
Experience in solutions meeting robust SSE systems security requirements
DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI within last 5 years desired
Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH
Program management experience with SSE
Broad understanding of technology and working knowledge of DODI-S-5230.28
Aircraft/weapons integration experience
Prior experience with military weapons, radar, communication, or fire control systems.
Strategic planning and proposal writing skills
Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders, and customers in a team environment
Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems
Experience in the management of computer system security actions and in the development of the procedures that support such actions.
Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements
Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations
Demonstrated hands -on experience using DoD approved scanning and assessment tools (i.e. ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker, and HBSS) and cybersecurity management tool (ie. eMASS)
Scripting and programming experience
Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study and maintaining proficiency in the technical cyber security domain
Experience troubleshooting & repairing rack servers, radio communications systems, cables and connectors (including fiber), and familiarity with radio encryption devices.
Familiarity with U. S. Army and/or Air Force organizational structure.
Prior experience being collocated at a customer's facility.

Relocation Eligible - Relocation assistance is available The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
