The Systems Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. The LWMDS department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon's Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) and Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) business areas from our Huntsville, AL location. LWMDS Department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels. Key technical domains include: Architecture, Requirements, Interface Definition, Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. Responsibilities to Anticipate: You will perform Systems Engineering activities and Control Account Management activities on one or more of our programs.
Support various programs such as Air and Missile Defense Capability (AMDC), Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Radar Development Contract (RDC), Standard Missile, and other sensor or effector programs.
You will be responsible for developing requirements and updating and/or maintaining Interface Description Documents.
Collaborate with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from outside of Raytheon. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and eight (8) years of engineering experience
Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other systems engineering experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Value: Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, Aerospace.
Detailed Knowledge of Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems including radar, interceptor, Command and Control systems
Detailed knowledge of Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS)
Experience using DOORs
Strong collaboration skills
Control Account Management Experience
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Modeling & Simulation development experience

More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
