Join the Technology Retail AC team as a Principal Systems Engineer - Chiller. In this role, the Systems Engineer will be on the forefront of developing new Chiller systems for commercial and industrial applications for the North American market. The Systems Engineer will be the technical leader for this product category and will be responsible for new product launches as well as assisting with developing long-term strategy.

How You'll Create Possibilities
  • Launch new Chiller Platforms to support Industrial and Commercial Applications.
  • Responsible for engineering development of chiller system technologies, to best meet the global market needs by integrating multiple technologies into the product.
  • Assist with developing long-term product strategies.
  • Work with factory stakeholders to develop refine selection software for North American markets.
  • Ability to develop thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design.
  • Develop chiller system architecture that meets or exceeds the product development requirements.
  • Develop heat exchange components in collaboration with heat transfer technology experts.
  • Partner with the factory to confirm product design performance, capability, and reliability in the engineering product test laboratory.
  • Collaborate with the compression development team to seamlessly integrate the compressor design into the chiller design.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing faculties to effectively implement design into production.
  • Collaborate with the product marketing teams globally to develop product requirements and that the product there meets their needs when launched.
  • Assist Sales and Application Engineering by specifying design and approve system installations.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • 10+ years' experience in product design and development.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant chiller design, develop, or application engineering.
  • Experience with developing and validating selection software.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization.
  • Ability to design, build, and execute a test plan and clearly present data to a diverse group and openly challenge technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a global environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software packages.
  • Up to 10% domestic/international travel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Vision for developing new product strategies.
  • Expertise in Applied HVAC products.
  • Passion for building products from inception to completion.
