Principal Systems Engineer - Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electronic Protection (EP) to support integration efforts across the Guam Defense System in Huntsville, AL.
Position Description: The Principal Systems Engineer will lead efforts to integrate advanced Electronic Warfare and Electronic Protection capabilities within Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems. This senior-level role is instrumental in developing and refining electronic protection Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTPs) and technologies to counter advanced threats. The position requires collaboration across military services, industry partners, and DoD stakeholders to ensure mission-aligned capability development and system integration.
Responsibilities: - Lead and execute systems engineering efforts to integrate and evaluate Electronic Protection (EP) capabilities within complex Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems
- Lead and execute engineering activities to integrate and assess Electronic Warfare (EW) features across IAMD platforms
- Coordinate cross-service EW and EP initiatives to ensure seamless interoperability and alignment with joint operational objectives
- Develop and oversee integration plans, test strategies, and verification activities related to EW and EP implementation
- Collaborate with stakeholders across DoD agencies, industry, and technical teams to address system integration challenges and resolve capability gaps
- Represent EP/EW interests in architecture working groups, technical interchange meetings, and system design reviews
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to protect mission-critical capabilities from electronic threats
- Provide subject matter expertise in requirements traceability, configuration management, and validation of integrated EW/EP solutions
Requirements: - Minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering with a focus on Electronic Protection (EP) and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- Experience with Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems and architectures
- Strong understanding of electronic warfare, radar systems, and communication systems
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to brief DoD senior leaders and influence decision-making
- S. Citizenship is required
- Active U.S. DoD Top-Secret clearance required, with the ability to maintain it
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline
Additional Desired Skills: - Experience within DoD acquisition frameworks and milestone processes
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Working knowledge of systems engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., SysML, UAF, Cameo, MagicDraw)
- Familiarity with DoDAF/MODAF/UAF and capability-based planning methodologies
- DoD Lo/Clo Red Team or Tri-Service experience
