Principal Systems Administrator - X-Lab ACEOPS Administrator (24-467) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at
Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U. S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Essential Functions: - Operate, maintain and manage Linux-based systems supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data.
- Ensure all data is being backed up on a regular basis
- Ensure backup system is functioning correctly and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
- Respond appropriately to any system security/virus incident discovered
- Install, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Linux based servers †Create and maintain Linux server documentation
- Create and maintain Linux system administration processes and procedures
- Install, configure, manage and maintain Linux server based applications
- Ensure Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed; including but not limited to, security, applications and OS
- Ensure Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
- Create, manage and maintain security groups
- Create, manage and maintain user accounts
- Monitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devices
- Create and maintain Windows/Linux server images
- Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and procedures
- Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
- Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
- Ensure all Linux servers are configured to comply with all appropriate security policies â
Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- 6 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 4 years' experience with a master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 10 years' experience in lieu of a degree
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT - Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required.
- Knowledge of the Linux environment and experience with Linux administration
- System Security Implementations
- Linux shell scripting
- Ansible playbook development and management or other competing automation solutions
- Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux and Red Hat repository administration
- Experience applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with system hardening using industry best practices Additional Skills
- Must have technical skills supporting a varied and diverse environment including enterprise server setup, deployment and maintenance
- Understanding of configuration managed Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
- Understanding of what IT's role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS
Preferred Qualifications: - Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)

- Experience with C2BMC Integration
- Understanding of the Agile processes
Salary Range: $91,200 - $136,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
