NVR is looking for a talented Principal System Engineer to work on-site in our Reston, VA HQ Office.

As a Principal System Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver expert-level system designs and deployments. Utilize your expertise in Azure, M365, Endpoint Management, Identity & Access Management, and on-premises infrastructure to build secure, efficient, and cost-effective systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures for system engineering activities.
- Design complex systems and components that meet business needs.
- Conduct impact analysis on major design options, recommend solutions, and manage associated risks.
- Specify prototypes to aid informed decision-making.
- Contribute to the deployment of organizational system design and architecture policies and standards.
- Ensure systems meet all requirements and perform as expected through rigorous system-level testing.
- Define technical principles for infrastructure and engineering.
- Identify and resolve complex issues with systems, analyze highly complex problems, and define solutions.
- Implement complex solutions independently and collaborate with Enterprise Architects for more intricate solutions.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and non-technical staff at all levels of seniority, motivating and inspiring team members.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers, project managers, and technical leads, to drive forward the enterprise technology vision and strategic plan.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices to Senior System Engineers.
- Evaluate the quality of system designs to ensure adherence to standards and identify corrective actions if needed.
- Oversee the technical review process to ensure system engineering activities are on track.
- Offer feedback and suggestions for standards, components, and templates for system engineering, incorporating input from the Architecture Review Board.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of system architecture design, requirements management, system integration, and system-level testing.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Professional certifications in system engineering or Cloud are preferred.
