Principal Splunk Engineer

TS/SCI WITH A CI POLY REQUIRED (FSP PREFERRED) A Principal Engineer is an individual who operates independently without direct supervision who is responsible for leading the delivery of an engagement with the sole intent of providing immense value for customers. To be successful in this role, a Principal Engineer will be expected to not only maintain a mastery in a capability aligned with our service practices, but also developing pathways towards future opportunities they would like to explore. This individual will be the most senior individual on a project and may be expected to assist future Associate, Level I, Level II, and senior engineers with tasking. Excellent communication skills along with sufficient leadership skills are essential for this role, as these individuals will interact with clients and engineers regularly in a leadership capacity. How you'll make an impact
- Maintain a master's understanding of the chief technologies they will be responsible for.
- Have an advanced understanding of major technologies that will surround the chief technology in their environment.
- Spend 10% of their time focusing on training and fine-tuning skills.
- Spend 90% of their time on engagement delivery.
- Operate and maintain a Splunk Enterprise deployment in Amazon Web Services (abbr. AWS) Commercial Cloud Enterprise (abbr. C2E).
- Build Splunk Enterprise dashboards, reports, and alerts in accordance with customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Splunk native tools and Cribl Stream.
- Demonstrate abilities and completion of objectives through in-person discussions with customer.
- Install, configure, and demonstrate basic capabilities of Splunk premium applications, such as Enterprise Security, IT Service Intelligence, and SOAR.
- Demonstrate comprehension of federal data mandates.
- Document all processes developed for customer. What we are looking for
- Currently holds a Top Secret clearance - TS/SCI with a CI Poly required (FSP preferred)
- Experience operating in classified environments.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or at least 8 years of related work experience.
- Expert understanding of cybersecurity, and infrastructure concepts.
- Masterful understanding of Splunk Enterprise and associated premium applications
- Splunk Architect certification required, Splunk Professional Services Consultant preferred
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud technologies and processes.
- Strong understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI and CMMC.
- Broad understanding of FedRAMP and IL constructs.
- Experience in leadership concepts and ideas.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Experience leading an engineering team, preferably having handled tasking, resolving personnel issues, and providing actionable feedback.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to meet client needs.
