Position Overview

The Principal Solution Consultant has overall responsibility for the technology program on a leading Unisys account(s) and supports the sales, Client Executive, and operational teams in delivering contracted services. The Solution Architect will develop and execute a robust IT strategy focused on expanding our portfolio by creating compelling solutions in IT Managed Services, Multicloud, Cyber Security, Digital Applications, and AI, aligned with our Cloud, Applications & Infrastructure (CA&I) portfolio and customer business objectives. This individual will drive technological innovation, shape the digital roadmap, and ensure successful implementation of technology initiatives to meet business outcomes.

As a Principal Solution Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic leader, providing thought leadership, guiding internal and external teams, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and digital transformation. You will evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage these to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.

  • Partner with practice leaders to identify and pursue new opportunities, developing an account growth roadmap.
  • Lead complex accounts spanning cloud, digital, AI, and cybersecurity systems.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, understanding their organizational needs and recommending value-added solutions.
  • Develop and implement account growth strategies to expand business opportunities and guide team execution.
  • Analyze client needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Lead a matrixed team to shape deals, grow accounts, and drive complex technology sales.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in account management and consulting with large Fortune 100 clients.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills; proactive attitude.
  • Experience in budgeting, project management, collaboration, and team-building.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with CXOs and decision-makers, managing high-performing teams and client satisfaction.
  • Leverage industry relationships to drive engagement and growth, especially in media, communications, and entertainment sectors.
  • Limited travel, primarily focused on the New York region.
  • Strong understanding of AI landscape, platforms, implications, and opportunities for clients and Unisys.
  • Proven success in selling professional services, digital transformation, or cloud solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The Principal Solution Consultant should deeply understand client IT and business challenges, focus areas, and objectives, and be able to articulate business value from the client's perspective. This role requires understanding customer behaviors, drivers, and values through data analytics, qualitative means, and social interactions.

  • 15+ years of experience as a technical leader in major technology implementations or projects.
  • 5+ years as a technology officer or in a senior technology leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Success in expanding and nurturing existing client relationships, including organic growth and new account development.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, sales processes, conflict management, and problem-solving.
  • Experience working with consulting organizations.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure, budgets, software development, multi-speed IT models, and systems architecture.
  • Experience leading large-scale ITO projects.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into technology strategies.
  • Experience with digital transformation, cloud technologies, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale technology projects on time and within budget.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data for decisions.
  • Experience with on-premises, hybrid, and multicloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and executives.
  • Ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science or MBA.
  • Proficiency in Mergers and Acquisitions, Distributed IT.
  • Technical background in Marketing and Entertainment domains.
