The Principal/Senior Architect will be responsible for developing the 5G Standalone technology and architecture roadmap, including network architecture and design, definition of requirements and configurations, and preliminary technology / vendor evaluation. This experienced Architect will be seen as a core company-wide resource on 5G technology, standards, and service evolution.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end 5G SA Network/Systems Architecture by coordinating with various internal stakeholders, OEMs, and component manufacturers
  • Provide detailed recommendations, designs, and roadmaps for network and service solutions based on different use cases for 5G, working closely with cross-functional SMEs
  • Create and document requirements, architectures, high level designs, parameter configurations, and KPIs for the 5G SA network and associated service delivery (voice, data, streaming, etc.) consistent with industry best practices
  • Validate the network build against these requirements and architectures
  • Build strategic relationships with OEMs, chipset vendors, platform providers, etc. as part of delivering on company-specific use cases, requirements, and objectives
  • Participate in and provide relevant input to help shape standards and recommendations as a Jio representative in various industry workgroups
  • Continuously evolve relevant knowledge and skillset to stay abreast of innovation in wireless technology and provide expert guidance on same to the organization at large


Qualifications and Requirements

  • MSEE or similar with 8 to 10+ years in network architecture, design, engineering and deployment within Tier-1 operators or OEMs
  • Technical background with strong hands-on experience and expertise in 5G RAN network architecture and design (preferably with 5G Standalone) in a telecom service provider network and deployment
  • Must have knowledge of 5G network architecture best practices, and preferably involvement in creating such practices.
  • Experience with applicable chipsets, SoC, vRAN/Cloud RAN, and disaggregated RAN technologies and implementation is a plus
  • Strong communications skills, written and oral, in diverse work environments
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership due
  • Ability to work effectively from remote office / home office location, if required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
