Position Description Serco is seeking a motivated and experienced Principal or Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team as a Supplier Management Team (SMT) Lead based in San Diego, CA. This role supports the Avionics Integration Organization and will play a key leadership role interfacing with suppliers and coordinating critical aspects of electronics systems and communications payloads. In this role, you will: Coordinate efforts across the SMT including engineers, subcontracts administrators, supplier quality assurance representatives, logistics engineers, cost account managers, schedulers, and material planners. Manage all phases of supplier performance including planning, proposal evaluation, capability development, production, testing, deliveries, and sustainment. Conduct and coordinate technical reviews of supplier documentation including proposals, acceptance test procedures, cost/schedule reports, and software documentation. Report supplier status to Program Managers, Global Supply Chain Managers, and IPT leadership. Qualifications Qualifications This position may be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal level depending on experience and education: Principal Electronics Engineer (SMT Lead): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master's degree in STEM with 3 years; or PhD in STEM with 0 years. Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background investigation or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation. Experience with aerospace electronic systems, communication systems, and/or payloads. Demonstrated supplier management experience. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). Senior Principal Electronics Engineer (SMT Lead): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience; or Master's degree in STEM with 6 years; or PhD in STEM with 3 years. Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background investigation or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation. Experience with aerospace electronic systems, communication systems, and/or payloads. Demonstrated supplier management experience. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). To be successful in this role, you will have: Strong leadership and coordination skills in managing supplier-focused teams. Experience in fast-paced engineering environments and comfort with diverse assignments. Proficiency in technical documentation review and supplier status reporting. Capability to work full-time on-site with potential for hybrid schedule as approved. Additional desired experience and skills: Active DoD Top Secret clearance. Project management experience or PMP course completion. Experience as a cost account manager or in similar roles.
