An aerospace client is looking for a Principal Network - Electronics Engineerwith Active Secret Clearance who has expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.

Position: Principal Network - Electronics Engineer
Pay Rate: $120.00/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9 80 A
Hybrid opportunity available.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Network-Electronics Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree OR 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree.
- CLEARANCE: Must have or be able to obtain a Full Secret clearance before you start.
- Expertise with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
- Understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
- Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
- Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
- Ability to operate with considerable independence, and to self-identify/pursue long-term interests.
- Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio.
- DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
- On-site presence at San Diego Spectrum Center at least 50%.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
- Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE.
- Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
- Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
- Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
- Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications/VoIP and VTC.
- Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
