Role Overview:

As the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers, shaping the 'Intelligent Client' to achieve our AMP8 goals and beyond. Your expertise in Mechanical Engineering is vital for project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set technical requirements with Project Definition Briefs.
  2. Refine Technical Asset Standards for process improvement.
  3. Maintain engineering standards to optimize asset performance.
  4. Lead innovative design development in water and wastewater sectors.
  5. Inspire and lead mechanically focused projects.
  6. Ensure technical sign-off and project handover assurance.
  7. Support research into new technologies.

Work Environment & Requirements:

  • Hybrid work at Clearwater Court, attending 3-4 days a week.
  • 36 hours per week.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, and receive a car allowance of £5,800.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering; Chartered status preferred.
  • Experience in sludge digestion, biogas, CHP systems, water/wastewater treatment, pumps/piping, or process equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in lead design engineering roles.

Benefits:

  • Salary between £65,000 and £90,000.
