We are seeking a Principal Installation Engineer to join our client's 'Installation and Project Engineering' team on a Staff basis. The role involves representing the discipline during tenders and projects, providing technical expertise, and developing new capabilities. Responsibilities include leading the installation of subsea structures, mooring systems, risers systems, flexible flowlines, and/or umbilicals. The engineer will prepare scopes, support offshore crews during operations, and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and design teams.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading installation work packages across tenders, FEEDs, and projects.
  2. Delivering scope within budget, quality, and time constraints.
  3. Managing scope changes, both technical and commercial.
  4. Leading and developing engineering teams.
  5. Serving as the technical contact for installation topics.
  6. Managing interfaces with stakeholders, including clients and suppliers.
  7. Ensuring high-quality documentation for tenders, FEEDs, and projects.
  8. Leading engineering activities related to installation preparation and execution.
  9. Developing procedures, task plans, and calculation notes.
  10. Supporting vessel mobilization and installation phases.
  11. Ensuring activities comply with project standards for quality, cost, and time.
  12. Possibly acting as Technical Owner for specific products or services.
  13. Validating concepts and managing changes considering HSEQ criteria.
  14. Participating in discipline development and mentoring junior engineers.
  15. Promoting technical expertise and contributing to standards and guidelines.
  16. Offering innovative solutions to reduce costs.

Working conditions include:

  • Primarily based in Sutton office (not remote).
  • International travel requirements.
  • Occasional support at offshore or other sites during project execution.

Desired experience:

  • Master of Engineering degree with relevant energy sector experience.
  • Extensive offshore/subsea installation experience.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following: Hook-ups/Pull-ins, Flexible Flowlines, Umbilicals/Flying Leads, Mooring Installation.
  • Desirable experience in deep/ultradeep water construction and project management.
  • Operational documentation development experience.
  • High offshore operational experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks.
  • Team leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different cultural environments.
