Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL .

In this role, the successful candidates will apply engineering knowledge and will have the opportunity to work on multiple tasks including but not limited to the following.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures
  • Plan, design and implement, various cloud-enabled architectures, and systems in support of customer requirements
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all requirements based on future needs and current usage
  • Interacting with customers, problem solving and critical thinking
  • Brief program leadership and stakeholders
  • Work with minimal direction, guidance, and act in the absence of orders

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, prior to the commencement of employment
  • Must have experience with at least one of the following: CDRLs, CVIDs, Requirements Management/Traceability using DOORS , OR Design Documents
  • Must have an understanding of Agile concepts/methodologies (JIRA/Confluence (Atlassian toolset
  • Must have knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DOD Top Secret/SCI level Security Clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
  • Experience with SysML, MBSE/Agile Frameworks, Use cases, or CAMEO
  • Experience with cloud-enabled systems and related architecture capabilities and enabling technologies
  • Experience with the use of Agile concepts (System Thread) for communicating user needs to developers
  • Experience with aircraft / Ground systems/segments
  • Experience with Mission planning systems
  • Experience with hyperscale systems or architecture
  • Experience with cloud-based architecture, networking, or administration
  • Experience with DevOps environments, virtual cloud solutions/architectures
  • Experience with Agile environment (Sprints)
Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
