Who we're looking for

Toyota's Battery Manufacturing division is looking for a motivated and passionate Principal Engineer of System Integration and Agile Practices. In this role, you will manage a third-party system integration team to efficiently execute the project backlog, resolve issues, and drive continuous team improvement.

Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with functional leaders to intake, prioritize, and allocate work while ensuring adherence to Agile practices and tracking key metrics. Reporting to the Manufacturing Operation Management Functional Manager, you will support the objective of seamless execution of system integration tasks.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the third-party system integration team to effectively handle the project backlog, resolve bugs, coordinate testing processes, create documentation, and address problems promptly to achieve peak efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies by managing team velocity and tracking essential metrics including sprint progress and backlog health.
  • Collaborate closely with Functional Area Leads to prioritize their backlogs and optimize tasks according to organizational goals.
  • Own the resolution of critical issues within the team and focus the team on delivering high-priority tasks.
  • Proactively identify and address bottlenecks and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Oversee the management of the integration team's backlog, ensuring clarity and proper prioritization of work items.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning sessions to guarantee alignment with business priorities.
What you bring
  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience managing or leading technical teams, especially in system integration or application development.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managing performance to meet deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) products such as OpCenter EXDS or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and demonstrated experience in managing Agile processes.
  • Solid problem-solving skills for issue resolution related to system integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to track and report key performance metrics.
  • Experience managing interrupt and emergent work buffers for adaptability.
Added bonus if you have
  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience in system integration for complex enterprise applications, including ERP systems.
  • 5+ years managing system integrations with third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Previous experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
