The LHH is seeking a Principal Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader in the fastest-growing industry in America who is committed to operational excellence, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will provide guidance to the maintenance engineering team and lead projects relating to automation, capital projects, facility expansion, and equipment selection and installation. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $125,000-140,000 per year and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance and direction to members of the engineering team and oversee related engineering activities.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to lead Preventative Maintenance initiatives.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team as they inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain plant equipment.
- Create and updated related engineering SOPs and manuals.
- Lead and complete various capital projects within the designated timelines and budget.
- Manage external engineering resources, vendors, and contractors.
- Coordinate the MRO of manufacturing and distribution equipment.
- Monitor the inventory of materials, replacement parts, and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing facility is required
- Must have 5+ years of experience directly managing engineering and/or maintenance teams within a manufacturing facility
- Must have experience managing large-scale capital projects
- Must have experience troubleshooting PLCs
- Must have strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and MRO needs
- Must demonstrate a strong understanding of budgeting and performance management
- Must be willing to learn, self-motivated, and a positive leader
- Preferred candidates will have effective communication skills.
