What you'll be doing Verizon is looking for a Principal Engineer - QA Test Automation with the knowledge, expertise, and drive to ensure quality assurance testing meets the highest standards and expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Web & Services Automation. You should also have deep knowledge of test automation frameworks, automation testing tools, mobile web application testing, and excellent communication and leadership skills. An understanding of the Agile development process is a plus.

You will work closely with other team members in designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure that all new code is functioning properly and that the system requirements have been successfully implemented.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading website and their affiliated backend system teams and driving team to enhance test automation of such technologies, including the regular updates and release changes.
  • Defining and executing the overarching strategy for Automation Testing, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Introducing different tools or developing custom scripts for automating tests involving both back-end processing systems, APIs, and front-end Web-based GUIs.
  • Using technical skills to troubleshoot user interface, application, or backend systems/database issues.
  • Participating in project review meetings, providing testing metrics/status and notifying management of critical failures and milestones.
  • Establishing and maintaining automated testing frameworks, tools, and processes to streamline testing efforts and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborating with software development teams to identify and prioritize test cases, create test plans, and execute test cycles.
  • Providing architectural expertise to guide the development and implementation of robust automation frameworks
  • Ensuring that projects adhere to established quality standards and measurements
  • Conducting regular reviews and audits of software deliverables to identify defects, deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitoring and analyzing quality metrics and key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of quality assurance activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively identifying risks and issues related to software quality and working with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Defining and documenting quality standards, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all projects.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of quality assurance engineers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Driving innovation by exploring and implementing the latest tools and technologies in the testing landscape
Where you'll be working
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we're looking for You'll need to have
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience or specialized training.
  • Experience as a team leader.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Rest Assured, and/or Tosca.
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Experience in building modularized automation test suites
  • Experienced in implementing and integrating TDM solutions with automation
Even better if you have following
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience ability building automated testing frameworks for different technologies (e.g. frontend, backend, API).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Test automation experience ideally in telecom or related industry
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $124,000.00 and $231,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
