Title: Lead AWS Engineer
Location: Miramar FL or Dallas, TX (Hybrid roles for candidates in these cities 3/2).
Remote Options: Candidates based in Atlanta, Seattle, or Minneapolis may work remotely.
Duration: 6+ months contract contract to hire
Compensation: $ 70.00- 80.00

Lead AWS Engineer
Role Overview:
Principal AWS Engineer to lead the development of microservices and architecture within AWS. This role will involve working with various vendors and technologies, with a primary focus on Adobe for the marketing tech stack and leveraging Google and other third-party system integrations. You'll be responsible for building native services within AWS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Developer for Microservices: Oversee the design and development of microservices, ensuring adherence to best practices in AWS. Mentor other developers and become the practice lead for AWS.
  • Use Cases: Ad Platform Migration: Assist in moving a new ad platform from Azure to AWS. The platform leverages a third-party vendor and includes a microservice that manages business logic and interactions with digital products.
  • Use Cases: Product Catalog Data Services: Build APIs for the digital teams to access product catalog data, including updates and services.
  • Use Cases: Data Collection Infrastructure: Help design the infrastructure for first-party data collection, including custom recommendation models within AWS. This will involve working with large data sets (up to 500 million data points per year).
  • Use Cases: Event-Driven Architecture: Enable an event-driven architecture by handling Kafka events and processing data from various product sources.
  • Use Cases: Content Management and Processing: Work with suppliers to enable the marketing of their brands, processing content and enriching it for distribution to various third-party platforms.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Leadership Experience: Ability to lead development work and guide other developers, even without formal management experience.
  • AWS Expertise: Proven experience in AWS development, particularly with microservice development and cloud engineering.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Experience building event-driven architectures and using technologies like Kafka.
  • Mentorship: Ability to mentor and guide developers on AWS best practices and development processes.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Kafka Experience: Familiarity with Kafka would be beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building design systems.
  • Solid understanding of front-end development technologies to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.
  • Understanding of animation/motion best practices and technologies.
  • Advanced skills in Figma, including tokens, variables, plugins, and prototyping.
  • Experience with design systems governance processes that manage design system updates, enhancements, and version control.
