RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and optimize batch and real-time data pipelines using modern orchestration and processing frameworks.
- Architect and implement scalable, resilient data infrastructure and systems to support analytics, intelligence, and product use cases - ensuring they align with Kharon's vision and mission.
- Define and champion best practices in data modeling, ETL, data governance, and system design
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams to ensure data architecture aligns with strategic goals and operational needs.
- Lead the adoption and integration of LLM-related tooling and vector databases into Kharon's data platform.
- Mentor engineers in data engineering principles, architecture design, and technical decision-making.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the data stack.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 12-15+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with 6+ years in a senior or staff-level technical leadership role.
- Deep expertise in building scalable data architectures and distributed data systems.
- Proven track record of leading technical teams, providing mentorship, and fostering professional growth among engineers.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with pipeline frameworks like Airflow, Spark, or Databricks.
- Strong background in data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Clickhouse, or Athena.
- Experience with LLM tools and vector databases (e.g., Langchain, FAISS, Pinecone) is a plus.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role is critical to driving the evolution of the data infrastructure that underpins our intelligence platform. In this senior technical role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable systems and resilient ETL pipelines that support a growing suite of analytic products. You'll own the architecture, tooling, and best practices that ensure structured and unstructured data is ingested, transformed, and delivered reliably, securely, and at scale. This position is ideal for an experienced data architect who thrives on solving foundational engineering challenges, shaping data strategy, and mentoring teams in building systems that are precise, performant, and built for the future.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between $275,000 - $290,000. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
