About the role
Join a prominent industry leader as a Principal Data Architect, where you'll have the opportunity to design and oversee enterprise data architectures. In this position, you will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable data solutions, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of data strategy, integration, governance, and roadmap initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and align data solutions with business needs.
- Design and oversee enterprise data architectures (EDW, data models, data flows) and data integration pipelines.
- Develop strategic roadmaps and data strategies, including data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Integrate disparate data sources and ensure coherence in enterprise data models.
- Promote modern data technologies and frameworks, guiding proofs of concept to implementation.
- Assist in issue resolution, data quality tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide leadership in data migration projects, including design and development of ELT processes.
Requirements
- Must be located within a 50-mile radius of Houston, Texas.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in data modeling, data management technologies, data integration, data sourcing, data analytics, or data warehousing.
- Must have 3+ years of experience with AWS data pipelines (Glue, Kinesis, S3, etc.).
- Must have experience architecting data products in Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred skills
- Experience with DBT.
- Familiarity with big data stacks and NoSQL technologies.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
- Knowledge of data governance practices.
