SUMMARY: Join our dynamic team as a Principal Controls Systems Engineer where you will design, develop, and test innovative process control system applications using cutting-edge technologies such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: You will be responsible for:
  • Designing, developing, and thoroughly testing all hardware and software process control systems to ensure optimum function.
  • Programming industrial control systems that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Providing expert consultation on manufacturing and processing projects to drive quality and performance.
  • Analyzing data to minimize scrap and maximize efficiencies within production processes.
  • Detailing drawings and coordinating the building of prototype products and their subsequent testing.
  • Writing and implementing essential maintenance procedures and performing maintenance tasks when necessary.
  • Tackling a variety of challenges utilizing advanced electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Solving problems related to assigned projects by collaborating with vendors, customers, shop personnel, and other stakeholders as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: We're looking for candidates with:
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three to seven years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to read, analyze, and interpret various technical materials, including business periodicals and government regulations.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to inquiries from diverse groups.
  • Mathematical competencies to perform advanced operations essential for data analysis.
  • Problem-solving abilities to collect data, interpret findings, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The capability to interpret a wide range of complex technical instructions, both mathematical and diagrammatic.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands for this position require regular activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and using hands to operate tools and controls. Occasional lifting/moving of objects weighing 10-25 pounds may be necessary. Vision capabilities should include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment typically involves proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to occasional fumes or airborne particles. Safety measures are in place for risks related to electrical shock and vibration, with a moderate noise level. Travel is minimal, below 5%.

SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $175,000 (based on experience level I, II, or III)
