The Audio Architect, Principal is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing audio solutions that meet the company's requirements and quality standards while enhancing the overall user experience. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of audio chipsets and software technologies into products, aligning with the
company's strategic goals. The Audio Architect, Principal independently reviews existing audio architectures and platforms to select the most suitable options for future products and audio services.
This role involves initiating innovative ideas and features, evaluating their potential for patentability, and writing and submitting new patents. The Audio Architect, Principal also drives independent improvement projects to address any quality issues that arise during implementation or testing. Additionally, they are responsible for developing the Audio Features Roadmap, effectively communicating and promoting
these features to Senior Management, including Marketing, Program, and Product Management.
Location- Onsite in Holtsville, NY Responsibilities: • Lead the architecture and design of audio hardware and software solutions for embedded systems and mobile handheld platforms.
• Develop and implement AI-based solutions for noise and echo cancellation, smart amplifiers, voice wake-word, voice recognition, and translation.
• Collaborate with chipset and software providers, such as Qualcomm, Google, AWINIC, Texas Instruments, MediaTek, Realtek, Forte-Media, Sensory, and Cerence, to integrate advanced audio technologies into products.
• Design and develop device drivers and audio solutions, including wired headset adapters, Bluetooth headsets, customized volume control systems, and audio desktop modes.
• Interface with enterprise customers, such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Lowe's, and healthcare hospitals, to understand and address their audio solution requirements.
• Create and optimize audio effects and processing for VoIP/Voice/Multimedia playback and recording across various audio endpoints.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver high-quality audio solutions.
• Conduct technical analysis and selection of audio platforms and features and perform technical analysis of audio/acoustic requirements and associated test methods.
• Understand and apply both objective and subjective audio tests, including TIA/3GPP/ETSI standards.
• Work closely with Product manager, SW Engineering team, Test leads and provide technical direction in design discussions, customer use cases and project reviews.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: - Masters Degree required (Electronics, Audio, Acoustics or Technical field)
- 12+ years of experience
- Experience in embedded system of mobile handheld platforms with Audio, Acoustics, Bluetooth Profile stack, Voice/VoIP solution, Device Driver Development in Android/Linux Operating system, Artificial Intelligence domains and preferably with Zebra technologies.
- Proven experience as an Audio Architect or similar role, with a strong track record of bringing new audio technologies to market.
- Experience in AI-based audio technology development.
Preferred Qualifications: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with customer engagement and handling enterprise clients.
- Experience communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
- Ability to actively engage business/technology partners, present, defend & challenge technical recommendations
- Ability to deal with ambiguities effectively
- Advocate for the customer and drive for the highest quality at all levels of the product.

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
