Up to $200k + 15% bonus
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of enterprise data and machine learning. Join a forward-thinking organisation where architecture is not just theory-it's strategy, hands-on leadership, and mission-critical execution.
They're a values-led, high-impact business with a deep commitment to innovation, purpose, and excellence. Their people are empowered to challenge the status quo, collaborate across boundaries, and deliver technology that makes a measurable difference. They're searching for a Principal Architect to spearhead the evolution of our enterprise data and machine learning platform. You'll design robust, scalable systems that empower data scientists, engineers, and business units across the organisation-all while staying grounded in real-world application and engineering best practices.
You won't just advise-you'll build. Prototype. Automate. You'll be the architect who knows the code, sees the big picture, and rolls up their sleeves to lead from the front.
What You'll Do:
- Architect a next-gen data & ML platform that's fault-tolerant, highly automated, and easy to use across business units.
- Define platform roadmaps and lead multi-phase implementation strategies, ensuring scalability and alignment with enterprise goals.
- Balance business needs with technical strategy-delivering practical, impactful solutions that avoid redundancy and optimize performance.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and MLOps tooling to maximize reproducibility, auditability, and delivery speed.
- Demonstrate the "how" behind the "what"-showing teams that great architecture starts with working code.
- Stay ahead of emerging patterns and technologies. Champion improvements to developer productivity and platform performance.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years in software engineering and architectural roles, with a background in building large-scale, multi-tenant systems.
- Deep knowledge of computer science, DevOps, MLOps, and platform automation.
- Experience designing and operating data/ML platforms that are secure, scalable, and cloud-native.
- Proven track record of building and mentoring cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communicator and collaborator-comfortable aligning diverse stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience); certifications in development, agile, ML, or data platforms are a plus.
