Department Facilities - Maintenance Responsibilities Performs daily, weekly, monthly, semi and annual preventive maintenance on all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire systems, ice machines, blue light emergency call stations, roofing, building envelopes, and automated external defibrillator equipment within the assigned area. This includes but not limited to cleaning, servicing and inspecting various types of HVAC Systems: including, but not limited to, cleaning of cooling and heating coils on a scheduled cycle; replacement and adjustments of pulley drive belts, pulleys and bearings; service to blower wheel assemblies and lubrication of all components; filter changing and service to all related equipment within a HVAC system. Performs maintenance and repairs on major equipment as required. Other related work as assigned. Responsible for and operates departmental vehicle as assigned. Climbs ladders, works in confined/tight spaces and work with various chemicals using proper PPE as it pertains to the work environment. Completes required safety training and complies with all safety standards including, but not limited to: lock out-tag out, ladders, aerial lifts, confined space safety, safe handling of hazardous chemicals, participation in campus safety teams, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Reports complex and/or unusual problems to the supervisor and coordinates with other Maintenance staff as required to complete complex tasks. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to plumbing systems. Duties include repairing faucets, valves, pipes, drains (including unclogging), toilets, and other plumbing related items. Completes required safety training and complies with all safety standards including, but not limited to: lock out-tag out, safe handling of refrigerant, confined space safety, safe handling of hazardous chemicals, participation in campus safety teams, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Reports complex and/or unusual problems to the supervisor and coordinates with other Maintenance staff as required to complete complex tasks. Qualifications Preventative Maintenance Technician 2 High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational degree in appropriate area may substitute for experience. Preventative Maintenance Technician 3 High school diploma or equivalency and ten years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years. Must have certificates in Mold and Asbestos remediation. Three years' experience within FSU Preventative Maintenance Technician level one position or five years of external professional experience and passing a basic skills test related to the requirements of the position. A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain upon hire.
