ABR is recruiting a Press Operator for a reputable company in Sun Prairie, WI. You will be responsible for assisting in reading tickets and understanding how a press operates. This company provides a lot of advancement opportunities and great benefits.
Pay: $18.00 - 19.00 (Depending on shift)
Shift: 6am-6pm/6pm-6am - Rotating Schedule
Job Description of the Press Operator:
• Use Technique to read and understand the job ticket, conduct data recording and layout sheet for setup and printing instructions.
• Understand and utilize the Omnicom format on the Sunday presses.
• Prepare the press for the current job with the necessary supplies for that job, i.e., the paper, ink, UV, and corresponding blanket.
• Achieve and maintain proper web alignment and tension.
• Monitor running tension and keep the press crew alerted to all upcoming splices including mill splices.
• Hang and remove press plates in units.
• Have the proper cartoning and related materials ready for the job.
• Use clamp to move logs safely.
• Change ink totes and ink barrels.
• Setup, operate and maintain stacker.
• Setup, operate and maintain sheeter.
• Set color.
• Read and interpret a ruler.
• Help web the press and assist in folder or sheeter setup.
• Fill out quality checklist for folder and sheeter.
• Setup UV coater (and clean when finished).
• Check and monitor product being delivered into stacker or sheeter, i.e., square fold, rubbing or marking, stacking product properly, gusset, position of UV varnish, perfs/scores.
• Remove waste bin at end of form.
• Cross-train on other presses.
• Get prepared for the next job before the current job ends. QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• One to two years of previous manufacturing experience, preferably in a printing environment . KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Word processing knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no instruction.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution abilities.
• Language skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret various types of correspondence. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and employees. Ability to effectively present information to customers and management.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Basic accounting and financial knowledge. Ability to read dimensions with a scale and perform calculations of measurements in both fraction and decimal format. Conversion of fractions to decimals and vice versa.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to ensure that tight deadlines are met.
• Working knowledge of press tools, densitometer, X-scan, blanket gauge, auto-mix, technique/autocount/computer, paperwork, durometer, caliper/micrometer, ink pumps, folder/sheeter, chillers, units, rollstand/infeed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
