Preschool Lead Teacher - Four Day

The 4-Day Preschool Lead Teacher reports to the Instructional Facilitator or whomever the Staff Parish Relations Committee designates as their direct report.
Classroom Days:
Tuesday-Friday 8:30 am-11:45 am in the classroom.
Preparation and Communication:
The Four-Day Lead Teacher has the freedom to work from home to fulfill the communication and preparation needs of the classroom outside of the Classroom reporting hours.
Benefits:
- Salaried Position (28th of the month, August-May);
- Paid Continuing Education for six (6) contact hours;
- Eight (8) classroom days of paid personal days off;
- No other benefits are offered to this position.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's or higher degree in education or 1500+ contact hours working with children and a bachelor's degree (Required)
- A Bachelor's Degree (or pursuit of) in Education or Early Childhood Education is preferred. Additionally, we will weigh associate's degrees in education, professional certifications, and higher education degrees (such as a Master's Degree or Doctorate);
- CPR & First Aid Certified (Required) (Training Provided as Needed)
- Safe Gatherings Certified (Required) (Training Provided as Needed)
- Have a passion for teaching children about Christ;
- Empathetic and compassionate to the needs of children;
- Adaptable to meet the needs of the children and families;
- Cooperative attitude to work with and support the preschool team ;
- Understanding of their role and the role of other classes in scaffolding the education of children in our program;
- Organizational skills to plan the scope and sequence of the year;
- Ability to communicate positively with children, parents, and staff.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and plan appropriate educational lessons/activities for each session, assign jobs including "calendar time", and prepare the easel paper for students to sign in.
- Prepare the room (s) to be used for a safe and enjoyable environment;
- Provide a weekly update and monthly newsletter to families;
- Develop and manage the snack calendar for families;
- Help rotate toys every two weeks, Big toy switch every six weeks;
- Establish a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive behavior and learning;
- Monitor the behavior of children and consult with parent(s) and/or director as needed to maintain a positive learning environment for all the students;
- Be available to consult with parents as to the progress of their child or any other concerns they may have;
- Determine necessary curriculum and supplies and maintain proper storage of materials in consultation with the Curriculum Facilitator;
- Provide a regular exercise component for the children's physical well-being;
- Organize "holiday" activities/programs that allow children to become familiar with the secular and religious holidays of the community;
- Maintain proper certification in CPR, First Aid, and others as state-mandated;
- Attend all preschool events involving the class;
- Be a team-player who can work effectively with other teachers;
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources;
- Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the children's needs;
- Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with each child's family;
- Model Christian and developmentally appropriate behavior with children through contact with children, parents, and other staff members;
- Continue professional development through attending workshops, conferences, and other staff development (6 hours annually;
