As a Prepared Foods Merchandise Specialist, you will play an essential role in our store by managing orders, replenishing inventory, and participating in promotional programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Purchasing and restocking prepared foods through efficient buying practices.
- Monitoring purchase orders for accuracy and timely action.
- Controlling spoilage and shrink while meeting inventory goals.
- Completing necessary worksheets for spoilage, sampling, and temperature checks.
- Assisting with food preparation and counter service as needed.
- Communicating effectively with the Kitchen Manager and Team Leaders regarding inventory needs.
- Maintaining positive relationships with vendors.
- Collaborating on recipe costing with Team Leaders.
- Overseeing customer special orders.
- Supporting leadership in conducting regular inventories.
- Achieving financial profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and addressing needs promptly.
- Maximizing sales by effectively prepping, storing, rotating, and merchandising products.
- Adhering to all health, safety, and compliance standards.
- Keeping a clean and organized working environment.
- Performing opening, mid, and closing tasks as assigned.
- Reporting safety hazards immediately.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - In-depth knowledge of food products, including seasonal availability and trends.
- Ability to create and negotiate price bids.
- Familiarity with nutritional information and product knowledge.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic math skills for financial tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ordering systems.

Desired Work Experience: - 1+ years in Buying or Merchandising.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and walking for 6-8 hours daily.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position has a wage range of $21.50 - $31.50 per hour, contingent on experience. Whole Foods Market provides competitive benefits including health insurance, a retirement plan, store discounts, and paid time off. Benefits eligibility is determined at hire.
