We're looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You'll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organizational skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you. • Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
• Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized
• Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing
• Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary
• Prepare recipes using the proper measurements needed for condiments and wash dice, and slice fruits and vegetables, and meats, for the variety of meals we prepare for customers Qualifications:
• Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds
• You have the basic skills necessary to prep food for a chef/cook with minimal supervision expected
• We'd like you to have some kitchen experience and associate's degree (AA) or equivalent, but it's not necessary
• Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English
• Available to work weekends and holidays, pitching in extra hours whenever needed Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
