St Julien Hotel & Spa is looking for a hard-working and dependable Prep Cook who will be responsible for preparing fresh ingredients, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, and supporting the Chefs throughout daily service. This position plays a key role in facilitating seamless operations in a fast-moving, high-end culinary environment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Follow menus, formulas, and established standards for food preparation - ensuring that food is prepared accurately and efficiently.
  • Plan, produce, and inventory mise en place before and after service.
  • Follow daily prep lists and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper storage of all foods including coverage, labeling, dating, and appropriate container usage; maintain the correct temperature of all food products.
  • Support Banquet and other event prep as needed.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all current menu offerings and be able to assist in other areas of the kitchen for regular service, as requested.
  • Communicate inventory needs and/or shortages to supervisor.
  • Assist with organization of coolers, freezer, dry storage, and the maintenance of overall kitchen cleanliness.
  • Uphold kitchen safety standards and report any hazards or equipment issues.
  • Keep workstation clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Adhere to St Julien's environmental commitment and Zero Waste goals.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' culinary experience required. Fine dining/hospitality experience highly preferred.
  • Ideal candidate must be able to multitask effectively and work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
  • Must have open and flexible availability and be able to work weekends and holidays.
