As a Preconstruction Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the early stages of our commercial construction projects-analyzing plans, estimating costs, developing schedules, and collaborating closely with project managers and design teams. Your expertise will help ensure accurate, efficient, and successful project launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project estimates and budgets (materials, labor, equipment).
- Collaborate with internal teams to review project scope and technical needs.
- Analyze construction drawings and specs for accuracy and completeness.
- Draft preliminary project schedules and assist with value engineering efforts.
- Research and source cost-effective materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Support technical aspects of the bidding and negotiation process.
- Maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in preconstruction or engineering (HVAC/Plumbing a plus).
- Strong knowledge of construction systems, materials, and processes.
- Proficiency with construction and preconstruction software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
