Position Overview

As a Preconstruction Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the early stages of construction projects, bridging the gap between client vision and successful execution. This position combines technical expertise, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership to ensure projects begin with a solid foundation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive preconstruction services, including conceptual estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and project stakeholders to develop effective construction strategies
  • Direct the preparation of detailed cost estimates, bids, and proposals
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks during the planning phase
  • Manage subcontractor prequalification, bidding, and selection processes
  • Develop project execution plans, including phasing and logistics strategies
  • Support business development efforts through client presentations and proposal development
  • Transition projects smoothly from preconstruction to the construction phase

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 7+ years of construction industry experience with significant focus on preconstruction services
  • Proven expertise in construction estimating, scheduling, and project planning
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Experience with construction estimating software and project management tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly
  • Strategic problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
