We are currently seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee pre-litigation cases, handling all phases from intake to settlement
- Investigate claims, gather evidence, and develop case strategies to drive results
- Handle settlement negotiations with insurance companies to maximize client recovery
- Communicate directly with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters on an as needed basis
- Collaborate with litigation department focusing on high-level strategy and potential litigation
- Provide compassionate yet strategic legal guidance to case managers and clients throughout the pre-litigation process
- Assist and direct case managers/pre-litigation managers with day-to-day management of medical treatment
- Assist and direct investigation on all pre-litigation matters
- Identify and retain medical experts and/or legal experts for pre-litigation matters
- Meet with clients to provide updates and discuss cases
- Attend pre-litigation mediations
- Conduct monthly file reviews with Pre-litigation managers
- Responsible for participating in monthly file reviews with Managing Attorney
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in pre-litigation personal injury law
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements
- Knowledge of California personal injury law and legal procedures
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Ability to work with complicated cases and clients
- Ability to identify important cases and case value
- Knowledge of statute deadlines
- Knowledge of government claim timelines/deadlines/statutes
- Knowledge of Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist timelines/deadlines/statutes
