$130,000- $150,000

Our client is a leader in the renewable energy space, developing and operating utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the ERCOT region. As part of their continued growth, they're seeking a Power Systems Engineer to play a critical role in analyzing and designing grid-connected renewable energy projects that support a cleaner, more reliable electric future.

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of large-scale clean energy infrastructure-while working with a dynamic team of industry veterans and innovators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform power flow, short circuit, transient stability, and dynamic simulations using tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, or similar.

  • Analyze interconnection requirements and support grid interconnection studies under ERCOT protocols and other regional planning criteria.

  • Support development teams with technical input during project siting, design, and interconnection phases.

  • Prepare and submit interconnection requests and respond to technical inquiries from ISO/RTOs and utilities.

  • Collaborate with consultants, OEMs, and utilities on detailed modeling and system impact studies.

  • Evaluate collector system design, equipment specifications, and relay/protection schemes for compliance with standards.

  • Conduct technical due diligence for M&A or project acquisition opportunities.

  • Provide internal guidance on emerging transmission planning trends, NERC standards, and ERCOT policy developments.

  • Contribute to innovation around energy storage integration, hybrid projects, and grid-forming technologies.

Experience Required:

  • 4-10+ years of power systems engineering experience in utility-scale energy projects

  • Deep knowledge of grid modeling tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PSLF, or PowerWorld

  • Direct experience with ERCOT interconnection processes, study protocols, and transmission planning practices

  • Strong understanding of inverter-based resource behavior and integration challenges

  • Experience supporting renewable energy or battery storage projects from development through interconnection

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (power systems focus preferred)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to present technical content to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Gain:

  • The opportunity to shape real-world clean energy infrastructure across Texas

  • Exposure to advanced technologies in solar, wind, and battery energy storage

  • A highly collaborative and flexible work culture focused on innovation and impact

  • Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and career advancement opportunities
