Job Title: Power Systems Engineer/Transmission Line Engineer
Location: North of San Antonio
Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. This position involves working on a variety of dynamic and exciting high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) AC and DC transmission line projects, with potential opportunities to work on renewable energy infrastructure projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed engineering and design of overhead transmission line projects from conceptual design through construction, ranging from 4kV to 500kV.
- Conduct detailed design of underground transmission line projects from 69kV to 230kV.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and opinions of probable cost statements for projects with limited details.
- Develop construction and material specifications and scope documents for construction tenders and contracts.
- Liaise with clients and contractors, coordinating with various disciplines and permitting agencies.
- Take on project engineer and/or project manager roles as required.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3 - 5 years of applicable post-graduation design experience.
- Ability to inform the design process based on previous experience with similar projects.
- Strong proficiency in using PLS software suite, Sag10, AutoCAD or Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations required to design transmission lines in the United States, including publications from NESC, CPUC, ASCE, RUS, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within a team environment.
- Must be insurable and possess a valid driver's license. No exceptions.
