Shift: Rotating shifts - 7 12-hour days / 7 days off / 7 12-hour nights / 7 days off
Wage: $35.15/hr (Includes 8 hours of overtime built into the schedule)
Job Description:
Minimum Requirements:
- Minnesota 2nd or 1st Class A Boiler Operator license
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and record information in logs
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with logistics, operations, boiler, and/or turbine generator operating systems
- Biomass power plant experience
Responsibilities Include:
- Operate and maintain air compressors, turbines, generators, motors, and steam boilers
- Read meters, gauges, and automated recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions
- Record data such as temperature, fuel consumption, water levels, flue gas analysis, voltage load, and generator balance
- Adjust manual or automatic controls to maintain optimal equipment performance
- Inspect equipment periodically to detect malfunctions, needed repairs, adjustments, or lubrication
- Monitor and record renewable fuel inventories and fuel deliveries
- Ensure proper fuel material mixtures, including moisture content; make recommendations for optimized fuel usage
- Conduct water titration tests and add chemical treatments to prevent scale buildup and clean boiler lines
- Maintain accurate operator logs detailing operations and maintenance actions taken during shifts
- Communicate concerns, issues, and actions to supervisors and incoming shift operators
- Adhere to company policies and applicable laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
