Key Responsibilities: - Lead the architecture and implementation of robust Power BI solutions, including data warehouse integration and multi-source connections, tailored for the energy sector.
- Design complex data models using star and snowflake schemas, ensuring optimal performance and usability.
- Create and maintain advanced data models, measures, and calculated columns with proficient use of DAX and Power Query.
- Implement row-level security models and establish data governance controls that comply with client requirements.
- Enhance performance for large datasets by designing and implementing incremental refresh policies and composite models.
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights for various user personas.
- Manage Power BI deployment pipelines across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring effective version control.
- Configure Power BI gateways for secure on-premises data access and scheduled refresh functionality.
- Establish best practices and governance frameworks for Power BI implementations throughout the organization.
- Create reusable components and custom visuals to enhance efficiency and consistency in development.
- Mentor junior team members on advanced Power BI techniques and data modeling best practices.
- Conduct client workshops to gather requirements and provide demonstrations showcasing Power BI capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions, incorporating key performance indicators.
- Ensure data quality and performance optimization across all Power BI deliverables through thorough testing and validation.
- Troubleshoot complex performance issues, optimizing queries and refining data models as necessary.
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI enhancements, industry trends, and Microsoft's Power Platform developments.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership in the field of business intelligence and data visualization.
Qualifications: Required: - 7+ years of experience in Power BI, encompassing architecture, development, and implementation.
- Strong comprehension of data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Advanced expertise in DAX, M, and Power Query.
- Experience within the Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory).
- Preferred experience in the energy sector.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a variety of audiences.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Work Location: This role requires onsite presence at client locations or our office in San Francisco up to 2 days per week. Candidates should live within commuting distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partially remote and partially onsite) and does not offer full remote work options.

Compensation: Per California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $115,000 to $175,000. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, and internal equity. We assess each candidate individually based on these factors.
