Power BI Developer Data Transformation Project
Location: Hybrid Nottinghamshire
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are working with a leading retail and distribution business undertaking a significant data transformation project. They are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to play a key role in developing a modern reporting and analytics environment.

This is a greenfield opportunity to move the business away from Excel-based reporting towards a more powerful, scalable BI solution using Power BI and ETL processes. The role will involve end-to-end delivery of dashboards and data models that will improve visibility across core business functions, including sales, operations, and inventory.

Responsibilities:
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather reporting and data visualisation requirements

  • Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports from the ground up

  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to consolidate data from legacy sources

  • Lead the transition from Excel to a dynamic BI platform

  • Create robust data models and implement DAX measures for advanced insights

  • Support and mentor internal users to ensure long-term capability within the team

Skills and Experience:
  • Strong commercial experience as a Power BI Developer

  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts

  • Proficient in Power BI, Power Query, and DAX

  • Comfortable working closely with teams across finance, sales, operations, and logistics

  • Demonstrable experience moving organisations from Excel to modern BI tools

  • Industry experience in retail, distribution, or wholesale is advantageous but not essential
