Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create and optimize Power BI data models (star/snowflake schema) for performance and scalability, utilizing best practices for data modeling and DAX calculations.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate requirements into effective data visualizations.
  • Ensure visualizations follow design and usability best practices, maintaining consistency, clarity, and data integrity.
  • Implement row-level security, custom measures, calculated columns, and DAX expressions as needed.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI service issues, including data refreshes and performance tuning.
  • Promote and maintain data governance and quality standards across reporting solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and data analytics to continuously improve our reporting capabilities.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in a production environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, and DAX Studio.
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries for relational databases.
  • Extensive experience with the Power BI Service, including workspace management, dataset scheduling, dataflows & datasets, and sharing reports with stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data schemas, and query optimization techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data visualization best practices-able to present complex data in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Must have good reading, writing and speaking skills to effectively communicate with studios, managers, and co-workers.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret charts.

Reasoning Ability:

Perform under pressure and/or opposition at times relying on your own independent judgment and knowledge to decide the best directions and solutions.

Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, database software
