Job Title: IT Infrastructure Management - Database Developer

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Migration DBA/DB Engineer to migrate of our legacy, large database from DB2 platform to PostgreSQL platform. The candidate would be responsible for assessing the current DB2 environment, designing and implementing the migrating strategy and ensure a smooth transition tpo PostgreSQL environment with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Very strong hands-on experience with heterogeneous database migration from DB2 to PostgreSQL

• Database Design and determine a best approach for Database migration, including data conversion, schema changes and any application modifications with stored procedures, functions etc.

• Analyze current query patterns and create an efficient indexing strategy for performance optimization on PostgreSQL.

• Develop and execute Migration plan

• Migrate Database, schemas, data and permissions.

• Test and validate the migrated database for data consistency, data integrity, schema consistency and application functionality.

• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document migration issues

• Collaboration with Application teams.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of Strong experience with DB2 and PostgreSQL

• 5+ years of Database Migration experience, both homogenous and heterogenous.

• Experience w/ Data Migration tools like pg dump or pg restore or pg admin

• 10+ years of DBA experience on Linux based platforms.

• Expert skills on DB backup/restore, database monitoring, security, access for both DB2 and PostgreSQL.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree

• 10+ years of Experience in database administration of PostgreSQL and DB2
