JOB OVERVIEW:

The Pool Server creates exceptional guest experiences through personalized, anticipatory service in our vibrant pool environment. This position delivers 5-star level food and beverage service throughout our pool areas including cabanas, daybeds, chaise lounges, restaurant patio, VIP areas, main pool, and commune pool.

The Pool Server specializes in ensuring VIP guests receive attentive, personalized care. This role anticipates guest needs before they arise, ensuring a seamless, luxurious experience that reflects the distinctive character of ACE Hotel Palm Springs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Experience
•  Provide warm, genuine welcome to guests entering the pool area, demonstrating recognition of returning guests
•  Anticipate guest needs through observant, intuitive service-offering amenities before being asked
•  Maintain consistent eye contact and positive body language, demonstrating full engagement with each guest interaction
•  Create personalized experiences by learning and using guest names, preferences, and special occasions
•  Respond to all guest requests within 60 seconds, providing immediate acknowledgment when service delivery requires additional time
•  Execute seamless, synchronized service during busy periods and special events without compromising attention to detail
•  Assist guests with amenities such as chair setups, umbrella adjustments, and poolside comfort needs
•  Monitor guests for signs of overheating, dehydration, or sun exposure, proactively offering water service throughout the day Food & Beverage Service
•  Master complete knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and appropriate food pairings
•  Provide thorough, engaging descriptions of menu items and daily specials, offering thoughtful recommendations
•  Take accurate food and beverage orders using appropriate POS systems
•  Execute perfect service timing, coursing, and presentation standards for all food and beverage offerings
•  Demonstrate proper serving techniques (appropriate to the venue) including carrying trays, pouring beverages, and presenting food
•  Monitor consumption and offer refills or additional service without being prompted
•  Coordinate with bar staff for complex cocktail orders and special requests
•  Process payment transactions accurately and discreetly Bottle Service
•  Deliver theatrical bottle presentations with appropriate fanfare for VIP cabanas and special events
•  Demonstrate expert knowledge of premium spirits, champagnes, and wines offered on the bottle service menu
•  Guide guests through bottle service selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on preferences
•  Maintain proper chilling techniques for various bottle types (champagne, white wine, vodka, etc.)
•  Execute perfect tableside cocktail preparation when appropriate
•  Manage bottle service inventory and supplies (mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice)
•  Monitor consumption rates to anticipate reorders and maintain consistent service levels
•  Ensure proper bottle service etiquette including regular glass refreshes, ice replenishment, and mixer replacements
•  Create customized bottle service experiences for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
•  Maintain accurate documentation of bottle service tabs, particularly for group events Pool Area Operations
•  Maintain immaculate cleanliness throughout all service areas, removing used items promptly
•  Conduct continuous scanning of assigned section to identify and address service opportunities
•  Set up and maintain service stations with proper supplies and equipment
•  Ensure all pool furniture remains clean, properly positioned, and free of debris throughout service
•  Follow all health and safety protocols, including food handling procedures and pool safety guidelines
•  Enforce pool rules diplomatically while maintaining positive guest relationships
•  Adjust service approach according to weather conditions, occupancy levels, and event specifications
•  Support seamless transitions between day service and evening events Team Collaboration
•  Coordinate effectively with pool attendants, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure synchronized service
•  Communicate guest preferences and special requests to relevant team members
•  Participate actively in pre-shift briefings and training sessions
•  Assist colleagues during peak periods to maintain service standards across all pool areas
•  Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or guest feedback to management promptly
•  Contribute to continuous improvement through suggestions and feedback QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience & Education
•  High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality preferred
•  Minimum 2 years of experience in luxury food and beverage service; poolside, beach, or resort experience strongly preferred
•  Previous bottle service experience in upscale venues highly desirable
•  Proven track record of providing exceptional guest service in high-volume environments Required Certifications
•  Current Food Handler's Certification
•  Current Alcohol Awareness/Responsible Beverage Service Certification
•  CPR and Basic First Aid Certification required Knowledge & Skills
•  Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and standards
