Position: Pool and Fitness Center Custodian

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Pool and Fitness Center Manager, provides custodial services to the Fitness Center, Pool locker rooms, offices, multi-purpose room, hallways, lobby.
Minimum Qualifications: - Hiring is contingent upon passing a background check
- Experience in custodial services preferred but not required
- Must be able to follow safety instructions on cleaning products, chemical data sheets, and understand and safely use power equipment and tools
- Attention to detail, ability to work independently, ability to follow directions, and problem solve is necessary
- Proficient computer skills
Essential Functions: - Maintain security of building by keeping all doors locked, lights on/off as directed
- Maintaining an inventory of cleaning products and requesting replacement products before par levels are reached
- Floor care, including daily sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping of all floors in PFC Stripping/waxing of floors on an as-needed basis. Disinfecting and hosing down and/or mopping of locker rooms.
- Emptying of garbage cans throughout the facility. Moving garbage to dumpsters, ensure trash baskets are clean and bags stocked
- Cleaning of locker room, showers, sinks, urinals, and toilets, replenishment of hygiene supplies
- Cleaning of Mirrors and Windows
- Dusting and cleaning of ledges, window sills, fitness equipment, wiping out lockers
- Changing light bulbs and using ladders
- Cleaning and polishing stainless steel, water fountains, doors
- Moving items left behind to lost and found, documenting items
- Picking up garbage around entrance to facility and applying salt if needed.
- Documenting work performed with daily/weekly/monthly checklists, walking through facility at shift end with a supervisor, correcting any deficiencies and performing any extra duties that need attention.
Working Conditions: - Working mostly indoors in a fitness facility including locker rooms, bathrooms, a fitness center, pool deck and spectator area, offices, and outdoors in the entrance to the facility
- Shifts are typically 7 hours long, 35 hours per week. Shift times and days will be determined by Manager. Over time hours and pay only with approval from Pool and Fitness Manager
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, reach
- Must be capable of working with cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, power washer, floor strippers, extractor, tools, and chemicals
Reports To: Pool and Fitness Center Manager
Workday/Week: Varies; Days/Nights

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
