Cason Land & Water Management, LLC is a land and water resource management firm based in Berlin, WI, with a work area covering Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Minnesota, and Upper Michigan. We provide professional consultations and services for managing lakes, ponds, streams, wetlands, prairies, and forests for both public and private clients.
Position summary
As a Pond Management Technician or Pond Management Biologist for our Pond Division, you are responsible for the completion of projects and pond treatments, while aiding coworkers and supervisor with the improvement of clients ponds. You will have the opportunity to travel throughout Wisconsin and its adjoining states, to assist individuals, government agencies, groups, and businesses with their pond management needs. You will collaborate with coworkers in the Habitat and Lake Divisions for project assistance and completion.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist with the implementation of management strategies for client pond objectives.
- Assist in conducting aquatic pesticide treatments and employ nutrient mitigation methodologies.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of client aeration/fountain infrastructure.
- Prepare, load and unload materials necessary for project completion.
- Clean and organize building and materials.
Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with ability for daily travel and some overnight stays
- Wisconsin Boater Safety Course, or compatible, certification
- Ability to lift 85 lbs or greater
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather
- Ability for clear verbal communication with coworkers & client
- Must be capable of adapting to rapidly a changing environment
- Must have strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to report to office location daily
- Wisconsin Aquatic Commercial Pesticide Applicators License obtained within 30 days of hire
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
- CDL is a plus
- Natural Resources or Biology background is a plus
Pay: The position will be hourly with some overtime, and the opportunity for 3% commission on individual sales. We offer a competitive pay package, including employer provided benefits, of up to $48,500/year. Benefits include paid time off, employee health insurance, retirement plan with company match, disability insurance, and health saving plan employer contributions. Applicants should expect a varied work week with a minimum of 40-45 hours per week during busy season (April-Oct), with fewer hours during slow season (Nov-March), including 3-day weekends with most Fridays off.
