Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet Dept of Criminal Justice Training Location 2624 Research Pk Dr 3rd Fl Dept of Criminal Justice Training Lexington, KY 40511 USA Description The Office of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Support (OKLECS) under the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet is seeking a Polygraph Examiner III for the Testing Services Section. The position will be based in Lexington, Kentucky. The Testing Services section provides mandated testing for law enforcement training candidates across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and administers other phases of testing mandated by OKLECS regarding Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS). The ideal Polygraph Examiner III should be energetic, dependable, a self-starter and hard-working. This position will collaborate with a staff of licensed polygraphers to provide prompt, efficient testing services the law enforcement community. Responsibilities and Duties: As mandated by Kentucky Revised Statues provides polygraph testing services for local & state law enforcement agencies in accordance with the Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS), Telecommunicator Professional Standards (TPS) and Certified Court Security Officers (CCSO)Professional Standards Acts. Analyzes data. Acts as supervisor of examiners in the absence of Polygraph Program Manager. Travel to locations throughout the state to conduct polygraph examinations, as well as other state mandated POPS, TPS and CCSO testing. This includes the administration of physical fitness test batteries, suitability screeners and urine drug screen collection. Conducts random reviews of current examinations to assure accuracy before reports are sent to Law Enforcement Agencies. Prepares reports creating official documentation of polygraph examinations, recording of physical agility tests and other documentation as dictated for law enforcement agencies statewide. Interpret, apply, and analyze Kentucky Law Enforcement Council laws, policies and regulations for staff, citizens, and the law enforcement community to enhance understanding and compliance. Conducts on-going program monitoring and evaluation of the OKLECS Testing Section. Participate in policy revision and development. Maintain polygraph license and other certifications, as well as meet continuing education requirements in professional specialties related to POPS, TPS and CCSO professional standards. Perform other duties a required. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Must have two years (54 semester hours) from a college or university. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of experience as a polygraph examiner. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in active military duty or as a Kentucky Polygraph Examiner or as a sworn law enforcement officer will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a certificate of graduation from a school accredited by the American Polygraph Association. Kentucky Revised Statutes - Chapter 329 Must obtain required Kentucky Polygraph License within thirty days of employment. Must maintain any required licensure (s), certification (s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
