Who We Are
The Henri Stern Watch Agency manages all business operations for Patek Philippe in the United States. Patek Philippe has a long and significant history in the US, with Patek Philippe timepieces being sold in this market since the 1850's. In 1935, Henri Stern, second generation owner of Patek Philippe, solidified a presence in the US by leasing an office space in Rockefeller Center, where the company remains. The Henri Stern Watch Agency was officially incorporated in 1946 and continues to provide distribution and repair servicing to authorized retailers and customers across the United States.
Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Workshop Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the refinishing, repairing, and servicing of a wide range of watch cases from basic cases to highly complex watch cases with multiple finishes. Working collaboratively with other skilled team members in a workshop environment, the candidate must maintain precision, focus, and craftsmanship over sustained periods. Utilizing specialized tools, machinery, and finishing techniques, they will polish, repair, and assemble cases to meet Patek Philippe's global standards of excellence. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are key to completing all work within internationally recognized service standards.
What You Will Be Doing
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Refine and polish watch cases and bracelets using specialized rouges and machinery, adhering to Patek Philippe's finishing guidelines.
- Assist in the breakdown, cleaning, and reassembly of precious metal cases and bracelets.
- Perform assembly of case components, including correctors, pushers, and crystals, with precision and care.
- Diagnose and correct imperfections or issues in case materials to support efficient assembly processes.
- Identify and address water-resistance issues, ensuring all cases meet company specifications.
- Ensure all completed work meets the highest standards for aesthetic quality and mechanical integrity.
- Maintain all assigned polishing equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.
- Support workshop operations by maintaining an organized, well-supplied parts inventory.
- Provide regular updates to the Workshop Manager regarding the status and progress of all case work.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an individual with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in case polishing, case repair, or casing-related functions.
- Familiarity with basic micromechanics and lathe operation.
- Watchmaking or watch technician experience is a plus.
- Experience with luxury watches or jewelry is strongly preferred.
