Platform Engineer with Security Clearance

Job Overview: We are seeking a Platform Engineer (PE) to deploy, maintain, and optimize a hybrid cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kubernetes administration, cloud-native application deployment, and Linux systems. This role involves working closely with clients to troubleshoot issues and provide modernization recommendations focusing on automation and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Administer and manage Kubernetes clusters and application lifecycle. Support cloud-native deployments and troubleshoot container-based applications. Collaborate with clients for issue resolution and workload transition to the cloud. Drive infrastructure modernization through scalable and automated solutions. Research, test, and implement new tools supporting Kubernetes and cloud environments. Required Skills: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and application lifecycle management Deep understanding of container technologies (Docker, runtimes, orchestration patterns) Proficiency with GitLab and version control workflows Strong Linux background (preferably RedHat-based systems) Scripting/programming experience in Python, Go, or Bash Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (security, monitoring, CI/CD, automation) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven experience troubleshooting container-based issues Effective collaboration with engineering and program teams Security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP) Desired Skills: Deployment and configuration of Kubernetes clusters and storage (file/block/S3) Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (e.g., HashiCorp Terraform) Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef) Linux system engineering/administration (5+ years) with RHCE or equivalent skills Proficiency in writing and deploying Linux/Unix scripts Configuration and troubleshooting of PKI, SSH, SSSD, HTTPD Experience with Grafana or other enterprise monitoring tools Strong technical and executive-level writing skills Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Or 10+ years of equivalent hands-on experience
