Talent Space, Inc. is a seeking a Platform Engineer for a fulltime opportunity in Irvine, CA or Dallas,TX or Las Vegas, NV.

The Platform Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting cloud infrastructure throughout the project
and cloud services lifecycle. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of off-premises systems across the enterprise, focusing on maintaining the overall health, efficiency, and
reliability of application and system services delivered to the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure supportability and architectural standards during system design and review.
  • Develop and implement scalable, sustainable, and future-proof infrastructure standards.
  • Recommend and adopt automated, cloud-first solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support system governance and architecture.
  • Support infrastructure across all development lifecycle environments (dev, test, staging, production).
  • Integrate modern cloud operations with existing legacy systems.
  • Provide daily support and administration in a diverse, multi-vendor infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot system issues and identify root causes.
  • Mentor peers and promote best practices in infrastructure operations.
  • Contribute to performance optimization and high-availability planning.
  • Oversee and support backup systems, ensuring regular and successful test recoveries.
  • Develop and uphold operational procedures and troubleshooting protocols.
  • Stay informed on new technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree-Management Information System, Computer Science or related
  • Supporting and deploying Cloud computing services, including IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) deployments.
  • Linux administration, Windows Server administration
  • Automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform. Scripting experience with PowerShell.
  • DevOps process and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) experience
  • Enterprise class backup solutions, Veeam Cloud Backups
  • Thick and thin provisioning best practices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

DevOps and Agile workflows

Identity management - Okta

Network troubleshooting tools - Extra Hop, Wireshark

Preferred Certifications:

Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Windows 2012, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Azure.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Automation using AWS CloudFormation, Amazon EC2 Systems Manager, AWS Config, AWS
OpsWorks, AWS Service Catalog, AWS CodeDeploy
  • AWS Design, architecture and services (IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, AutoScaling, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, S3, Cloudwatch, Lambda, KMS, EKS, ElasticSearch, WAF, Secret Manager, Amazon Connect, etc.)
  • GCP and Services Catalog
  • Kubernetes - build, run and maintain
  • Networks and Firewalls-(Palo Alto NGFW)
  • Linux CLI commands, SSH and SCP
  • Active Directory and Windows domain environments (intermediate knowledge)
  • MS SQL service configuration and load balancing
  • Share and NTFS permissions
  • networking principles - large WAN environment
  • SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, CIFS, NFS, etc.)
